Under the headline 'Much ado about nothing!' yesterday's edition of the Catholic weekly, The Herald, tackled the removal of crucifixes issue that flared in the immediate aftermath of the Christian Federation of Malaysia's Christmas open house attended by Prime Minister Najib Razak...Malaysiakini.
Not only the article in the Herald missed the point, it also failed or neglected to state when the carols were sung, prayers were prayed and scriptures read. Were all these done before the PM’s arrival or after his arrival? These are two versions of the same event. Dr. Herman Shastri, Secretary General of CCM, emphatically told the Sun on 2nd Jan, “ No Christmas carols or prayers were sung and recited during the event and the Grace before meals was recited before Najib’s arrival. An African Christian group performed a sequence of dances that had no relation to the significance of Christmas”. All these ceased upon his arrival and the directives or requests of Datuk Hardev (an Official from the PM's Department) were complied with to the letter.
Has Political Correctness on the part of the Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Church in Malaysia resulted in this shameful episode where, if true, the Leaders of the Church in Malaysia have DENIED JESUS CHRIST just to please Prime Minister Najib Razak and his supoosedly Holy and Islamic Racist Ketuanan Melayu BN/Umno Regime. This is best summed up in a Comment left by a Reader of MarGeeMar below:

It was a Birthday Party for the Baby Jesus but because King Herod (Najib Razak) was coming, the Pharasees (Najib's Aides) made sure the Birthday Boy (Baby Jesus) was not invited to His own 'Birthday Party'. Shame on you Archbishop Murphy, CFM, NECF. I wonder how many times the cock needed to crow this time when the Archbishop denied Jesus just to please King Herod (Najib) and the Pharasees (Najib's Aides).
Archbishop Murphy, you not only owe your flock an explanation but also ought to return your 'Tan Sri' title where it came from.

Whatever the case, either Archbishop Murphy Pakiam or Rev. Herman Shastri owe their flock a clarification and tell the TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH. Failing to do so, will only tarnish the image of God's Church in Malaysia.
