Boys Soccer: Broad Run's Reitzel is Named Region II Player of the Year; Tuscarora's Gryder Coach of the Year


(June 7, 2011) - Broad Run High School senior Kevin Reitzel, who leads the Spartans into a 7 p.m. state quarterfinal contest at home tonight, has been named Region II boys soccer Player of the Year in a vote of the region's coaches. Tuscarora's Dave Gryder, who has his first-year Huskies in the state tournament with no seniors on the roster, was named Coach of the Year.

Boys Soccer: Broad Run Possesses Another Title with Total Team Soccer

Boys Soccer: Tuscarora Shocks Kettle Run on Goal with 15.6 Seconds Left in Sudden Death OT


Bealeton (June 3, 2011) - The Tuscarora High School boys soccer team, a first-year program with no seniors, is headed to the VHSL AA state tournament after the Huskies shocked Kettle Run, 2-1 in overtime, on Angel Ceron-Garcia's goal with 15.6 seconds left in the sudden death OT period.

News: Loudoun Valley Hires Tuscarora Wrestling Coach Barden as New Assistant Athletic Director

(June 2, 2011) - Tuscarora High School wrestling coach, a Loudoun Valley graduate, is returning home as he has been hired as the Vikings new Assistant Athletic Director.

Barden, formerly an assistant wrestling coach at Loudoun County, was hired a year ago to start the new Huskies program.

Barden grew up in Loudoun, attending Hamilton Elementary, Blue Ridge Middle School and Loudoun Valley High

Girls Basketball: Broad Run Hires JV Boys Coach Chris Pasternak as New Coach

(June 2, 2011) - Broad Run High School has hired boys junior varsity coach Chris Pasternak as the school's new girls basketball varsity coach.

In other hiring news, Loudoun Valley wrestling coach Troy Mezzatesta, will coach the Vikings golf team in the fall, taking over for long-time coach Gary McKay.
