Strange to find that any thread which asks for contribution is pushed down the toilet within seconds whereas people are just too fond of discussing all idiotic things like..July 2 filers, July 3 filers, Will USCIS return our appllications, so on and so forth.

i'm on L1B visa.I came to US on L1B in 2005 with one year petition and got extension
for 3 years. meanwhile i left to India in June 2007. And then i came back with new L1B petiotion in Oct 2007 which is valid till Sep-2010.Now my question is
1) Is my L1B stay reached to maximum or do i still have 2 years left with my new L1B.
2) If i apply for H1 this year how many years of stay i'll get with H1B.
Please help me with this madam as soon as possible.

What if the H4 candidate recieves H1 but decides not to start a job at all. What will be his/her status in that case? H4 or H1?

I passed that CBP checkpoint twice when I went to San Diego and twice, I wasn't inspected. Both times, I have no immigration documents with me but my CA Driver's License.
May I ask, do you happen to have out of state licence plate?
Yes, I live in orange county, CA and used to travel to san diego every weekend. I never carried any immigration document even now in my car.

I believe IV is the only forum/organazation concerned about our cause. Everybody else thinks immigration issue is just about illegal aliens. IV highlights the real issue, legal immigration.

This part is self-explanatory. It seems that USCIS made a list of all the applicants to Jul 08, 2007 by setting PD to Jun 01, 2006.
Documentarily Qualified might possibly imply:
.. Medically OK
.. FP and Name Check OK
.. Everything in application is consistent (e.g. DOB, Name, Kids, Spouse)
.. Requires No RFE
.. Requires no interview
.. Just requires GC (Visa) Number

I did some more searching on the DQ issue... it seems like it is a term applicable only to consular processing. When a visa applicant has responded to something like an RFE by sending a form DS2001 AND has cleared all background checks - he/she is called "DQ".
The equivalent for AOS cases may therefore be
- Completed and signed I-485 + Fees

- Background checks cleared (or 180 days have passed)
My guess is DQ does not mean pre-adjudicated (I hope so...)

Everest Consulting Group Inc is really good. I know them personally for more than 10 years now & they do what they say and do NOT torture their employees like many other consulting firms. I just got my GC thru them :)

With republican House there is zero chance of anything happening on any kind of immigration bill. Nothing other than border security will be taken up. It will be best to kiss good bye to GC dreams if republicans win the House.

If the restrictions in H1b comes then I may be impacted also many of my friends and relatives may be impacted. For our personal lives H1b and green card are important if we want to stay in USA. My point is if congress make sure that if I or you will not take any eligible US persons job in USA that is acceptable for me. That will make sure everyone happy
Anyhow we will see what next for CIR and we will do more analysis when it comes.

You mean Microsoft and Google and other companies want to stop outsourcing. They would not have build a huge team in india if they wanted to do this. The point that you are missing is that they need H1-Bs here because no american born is availabe here to fill those positions.
Read my statement thoroughly.
Big consulting companies(Bearing point....my list will go on) that are plenty in the US who hire and fire H1-B and american born if they cannot find another client for them after few days.
What will happen to these companies .. they have to shut down
Rule 2 will be a disaster for all these companies.
These companies do not go to india to get H1-B's they get them when they come here brought by india Desi companies.
It will be a mess. You might be talking about one company that will never displace and american and will garauntee an employee that he will never be fired once hired : Give me a break.

I am current now (PD: Feb 16th,06) and last time when i was current in 2008 for a month i got an RFE. Even though the attorney replied to the RFE in 3 days, all my case status shows is RFE response received.
Ours is a big company and close 2000 people applied for 485 during the July 2007 fiasco and we were asked to send the G28 forms to the attorney by mail with no signature reqd. Apparently almost every got an RFE for that.
I wish i could get to know if RFE was all taken care of and my case is pending for a VISA number. Any way to know if thats the case gurus?
Why did you not open an SR. I was in the same situation, my company replied back to the RFE and the status still says we recieved your RFE. I opened an SR to find out my position this March, they said they are waiting for visa to get current.
Try opening an SR and just find status.

I am ok so far (as far as I know), but keep worrying about what could happen...I wish I had better control over my mind and did not worry about all the things that could go wrong....I have a 3 year old and at times when I am chatting to her my mind is running all over the world thinking of all the possible things that could go wrong...
I remember one of my friends once telling me when I told him about being worried about lay offs...he said...come on, that is like worrying about a earth quake....
Let us hope that things improve soon !!

I was not judging anyone. I do not claim to know all the numbers. So i just put it out there for someone to look and evaluate. Now many are saying based on the numbers, there was no spillover wasted. That is fine.
