I was called banana & traitor by a chinese school die-hard just a few days ago. What I did was speaking english to a fellow chinese guy.
In another occasion I went out makan with my malay and indian course mates at KFC. I was the only chinese in the group. There were a few chinese teenagers nearby, and I was looked upon like an alien by them. They said something really disgusting in mandarin about us and laughed at it among themselves. Little did they know that I understand every single word that they mentioned. (I took chinese in PMR and scored A)
These might be isolated cases but they demonstrate the fact that vernacular school students, without the chance of knowing and mixing with other races, tend to view them with a rigid, racist stereotype. Heck they even think english speakers like me are a disgrace to the "pure & superior" chinese race and shun us at every opportunity. WTF!
No one is stopping you from migrating to china if you hate the malays, indians and bananas so much. Enjoy your 5000 years of chinese civilisation and
china's superpower status that you always brag about like no others! Oh, last but not least, melamine-tainted milk for your babies !
