Vanessa Hudgens’ Naked Bangers Back For High School Musical 3

Disney had to make a difficult decision recently - to invite Vanessa Hudgens back for High School Musical 3 despite her nude scandal, or to replace her with someone less likely to whip their vagina out and show it to everyone all the time.

But, surprisingly, it looks as if Disney has chosen the former. Reports are rife that Vanessa Hudgens is not only going to sign on to reprise her role in High School Musical 3 this week, but she's also negotiated herself a giant payrise in the process. Although Vanessa Hudgens' payrise has shocked everyone who thought that her days as a family-friendly pop gonk were over, there's probably a perfectly good explanation for it - like the millions and millions of extra dollars that High School Musical 3 will make thanks to the army of new adult male Vanessa Hudgens fans who'll watch it again and again trying to work out if they can see the beginnings of a cameltoe emerging during the movie's tender opening number.

High School Musical has become a phenomenon by its relentlessly-pushed message that everyone is special and has their own gift. That's certainly true about Vanessa Hudgens, who is special because she's one of the few 18-year-old Disney stars prepared to take naked and borderline-lesbian photos of herself and paste them all over the internet for everyone to see.

But, even though this gift has made Vanessa Hudgens one of the most well-known vaginas in the entertainment industry, it looked like the fame was coming at a cost. Vanessa Hudgens, you see, was the female lead in High School Musical and High School Musical 2 - Disney's almost-nauseatingly earnest Grease rip-off cable movies. And, as you may have guessed, the sight of Vanessa Hudgens singing a song called You Are The Music In Me and the sight of Vanessa Hudgens trying to cop off with a schoolgirl with tongues didn't sit so well together.

However, despite rumours that Vanessa Hudgens was going to get the shove from High School Musical 3 - where the plot presumably involves all of them having to keep repeating years despite clearly being above high school age, possibly because they're all a bunch of honking dimwits - over the naked photo furore, it looks like Vanessa Hudgens might get the last laugh after all.

It's claimed that Vanessa Hudgens is on the verge of signing up for High School Musical 3 and getting a big fat payrise for doing so. While the official Disney and Vanessa Hudgens line is that nothing has been signed and negotiations are still in process, a High School Musical source told Us Weekly:

“Vanessa is locked for the movie. She is very happy that the deal is done.”

Obviously, while Vanessa Hudgens has built up a following amongst sickening bright-eyed innocent children by starring in the first two High School Musical movies, it's hard not to think that her naked photo sideline will bring in the punters to the third movie like never before, something Disney is hoping to expand on by forcing Vanessa Hudgens to wear nipple tassels throughout and singing a provocative burlesque song called Do Me In My Minge Now instead of the scheduled Never Forget (We're All Stars And God Loves Us Equally).

magic street

home I (家之一)

We called it a magic street. But there's nothing Harry Potter-ish about it all it. In fact, there's nothing very magical, not even in the metaphorical sense of the word. I've forgotten why we called it a magic street.

The street leads to the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. In both our visits there, 4 years apart, the street barely changed - at least in our memory. Both visits were between 4-5 in the late afternoon. In Autumn, the light would have started to change.

home II (家之二)

At that hour, there would be kids who have stayed on a little later in school rushing home; maybe one or two housewives would go by on their bikes. But save for these bodies, and even quieter ones in the slow neighbourhood shops, the street was mostly deserted. We are greedy anomalies on this street, stopping every few steps for photographs, to decipher signs, stare at shop windows, and both times for yakitori, eaten at a bench outside the shop - nonetheless, quietly.

tradition II (傳之二)

Maybe it was our regressive impulse - wanting to marvel at this sense of time having stood still, or the quotidian amidst glitzy, metropolitan Tokyo.

Maybe it was the quiet - not the monumental quiet of ancient forests or endless canyons, or the hushed silence of religious halls and libraries - but the quiet of activity being somewhere else instead, the quiet of a clearing.

entr'acte, 2

Okay, so I'm bubbling over and just have to share very positive developments this weekend:

1. I am a step closer to liberating myself from having to rely on the generosity of the University of Wisconsin-Madison for my professional e-mail needs. After deciding that three e-mails over two weeks with no response from Northwestern computing staff was quite enough waiting, I took matters into my own hands and obtained and installed Office 2007. The remaining issues involve what may be fundamental deficiencies in the Northwestern webmail/IMAP set-up. For this, I might have to turn to using a private ISP, although I will try consulting again with NU tech support before I do this. I'm very happy about many aspects of the new job at Northwestern, but I will have to admit that the recurrent experience of having paid support staff to whom you send e-mails and simply do not get any response whatsoever is new for me.

2. Yesterday was an absolutely splendid day for college football: My Hawkeyes won with me in attendance, Iowa State won (meaning that they will not go 1-11 with their only win being over the Hawkeyes), Nebraska lost by giving up more points in its entire history (and to Kansas, to boot), and Notre Dame lost to Navy for the first time in 44 years. I was dressed in full Hawkeye regalia and had a conversation with a Northwestern mother on my way to the game in which she asked where I was from and I said, "Um, actually, I'm faculty here at Northwestern." We had a nice discussion then about how her sons were enjoying Northwestern and what a nice thing enduring undergraduate loyalty is.

3. I have secured tentative agreement from at least some family members for my scheme to host Freese Family Thankgiving here in Evanston. Yes, me, putting on Thanksgiving Dinner for my family. (No, of course I'm not actually going to cook. Have I mentioned that I live right next door to Whole Foods?)
